Enforcement
Gerhard van Deventer is the executive responsible for enforcement at the FSCA. From 1996 to 1998 Gerhard was employed by the FSB as a Forensic Investigator, and was tasked with setting up the Insider Trading Directorate, the first of its kind in South Africa, with a mandate to consider and decide on the merits of taking statutory civil action in the High Court in insider trading cases.
