| The FSCA’s Executive Committee comprises of the Commissioner and three Deputy Commissioners. It is responsible for general oversight of the management and administration of the organisation to ensure that it is efficient and effective throughout strategic and operational matters. | The Financial Sector Outlook Study: Key developments and trends in the South African banking sector |

| This quarter the FSCA published the Financial Sector Outlook Study; an insightful review of the South African financial landscape under the FSCA’s jurisdiction, with particular focus on key developments and trends in South Africa’s banking sector. In addition to analysing individual industries, the study also looks at macroeconomic developments, drivers of change and the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on the financial sector. One such industry is banking. |

| The FSCA’s recent engagement with the insurance industry was a special session hosted by FSCA Commissioner Unathi Kamlana, following the fruitful discussions with the banking industry prior. These sessions are part of intensified engagement efforts of the FSCA with the various sectors of the financial services industry.

The Pension Lawyers Association (PLA) hosted its 26th Annual Conference, where legal experts provided practical analysis and discussed legal issues affecting the financial services and retirement funds industry.
This year delegates welcomed the FSCA Commissioner Unathi Kamlana as he took centre stage to introduce the FSCA leadership, the new Regulatory Strategy and contextualised the emerging retirement funds strategy. |
