EDITOR’S NOTE

As we wind down the year, it’s safe to say we’re all still adjusting to the changes brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, and our economy is slowly showing signs of recovery.

For the FSCA 2021 has been quite an exciting year as we welcomed our new leadership team. Our Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners have hit the ground running, and the Authority has already published its strategy for the next three years. We bring you more on that in this issue.

We also look at the recent Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA) 2021 Conference and bring you  highlights of the keynote address delivered by FSCA Commissioner Unathi Kamlana under the theme “Leadership in times of crises and the need to develop and maintain these skills for a well-functioning industry”.

Also making headlines in this quarter was the COP26 conference, which emphasized the importance of collaboration in curbing the global impact of climate change. And, in that same collaborative spirit, we look at how sustainable financing is set to transform the economy and reduce carbon-emissions. We have all this and more in store for you in this edition.

Let me take this time to thank everyone who has consistently given us feedback on this newsletter. We do listen and are committed to bringing you an even better read each time. Join our growing list of contributors to the FSCA newsletter by sending your story to: publications@fsca.co.za
