The FSCA’s Financial Education Plan (FEP) for the 2026/27 financial year is informed by its five-year Strategic Plan. The FEP will be reviewed and updated

annually in line with the organisation’s strategic and operational developments.

The FSCA is publishing its FEP to better fulfill its strategic goals of increasing the reach and quality of financial education in South Africa through coordination amongst stakeholders and thought leadership, promoted through transparency of its planned financial education activities. This FEP will also be presented for discussion at the National Consumer Financial Education Forum chaired by the National Treasury.

“Reimagining Financial Market and Conduct Regulation for a Changing World.”

Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) Commissioner Unathi Kamlana will remain in his position for a second term.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced the reappointment on Wednesday, confirming it will be effective from 1 June, for another five years.

Kamlana has been in the role since June 2021. He is responsible for developing and implementing FSCA’s regulatory strategy while overseeing its day-to-day operations. The authority ensures consumers are treated fairly and financial markets remain stable.

The 2024/25 Integrated Report of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) has been successfully tabled in Parliament and published on the Authority’s website.

The report provides an overview of the FSCA’s performance during the period between1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025, detailing how the Authority creates and preserves value in the short, medium and long term.

It also highlights the FSCA’s strategic priorities as outlined in the Authority’s three-year Regulation Plan; operational matters; regulatory interventions; governance and financial information.

The Financial Sector Conduct Authority and retirement funds have adopted a multi-pronged approach to address the non-payment of contributions by employers. The Authority last week released its latest list of employers that were in arrears with their contributions at the end of March, as reported by funds.

Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) Commissioner Unathi Kamlana and head of enforcement Gerhard van Deventer had a clear message for service providers in the financial industry when they presented a report on the agency's work over the past year: Obey the rules or face the consequences.

The numbers show that the institution acted decisively against those who refuse to toe the line. It imposed 51 administrative penalties totalling nearly R120 million.

Retirement fund administrators estimate the two-pot system will add R300 million a year to the cost of administering funds, says FSCA deputy commissioner Astrid Ludin. The FSCA, the Pension Funds Adjudicator, and National Treasury on Tuesday briefed the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance on the implementation of the two-pot system and arrear contributions.

The latest list names employers that were allegedly non-compliant with section 13A of the Pension Funds Act (PFA) at the end of December 2023. The 109-page document names about 2 800 entities, which are listed according to the period for which the outstanding contributions are due, from longest to shortest.

The FSCA has published a list of employers in arrears for retirement fund contributions. The communication provides the names of employers that contravened section 13A of the Pension Funds Act, 1956 (PFA) which prescribes the manner in which the payment of contributions and other benefits should be made to a retirement fund. ​Read More​

The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) has noted various statements in the media by certain institutions indicating they are the first or only institutions currently licensed as crypto asset service providers (CASPs) under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act, No. 37 of 2002.

The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)'s newly established Consumer Advisory Panel has officially commenced its work, setting its key strategic objectives for the financial year starting on 1 April 2024.
